This is used to match multiple values e.g. when populating an attribute with multiple cardinality and all values will be one instance of that attribute. When replaced as text this is similar to the above example but when replaced in a multi value context this notation will render multiple values but the above will render one value as a comma

As a project management and tracking tool, having the ability to manipulate dates in Jira is critical to the correct operation of the application, and smart values in automation rules give us a lot of flexibility in how we can use and manipulate dates and times in rules.
Jira smart values - math expressions. Check out how we use smart values in our Jira automation template library. The following smart values are available to insert and format numerical values when setting up a rule. To use a math expression, you need to use { {#=}}: 1 { {#=}} { {issue.Invoice Amount}} * 1.2 { {/}} I want to test if the 'Summary' field in a Jira Issue includes a date. If it does then I don't want to display a custom date but if it doesn't then I want to display the custom date field. This is what I am starting with: Overview Automation in Jira Service Management is a “no-code” capability that only takes a few clicks. By automating your processes and workflows, you remove the need for you and your team to perform manual, repetitive tasks – and you can focus on the work that matters. These shared canned responses will be accessible to all agents of the project. Agents and project admins can create personal canned responses that they can use in future comments. These can be signatures or unique greetings specific to the agent. All canned responses can be accessed from the comments editor in the issue view. For context, the JQL syntax for this field is "category." If isn't working with the options I suggested above - I tried them also in a test instance - it might not be available. { {issue.project.XXX}} is how you access an issue's project information via smart values. I know this is Server documentation, but this page on Smart Values doesn't The Jira cloud feature "Variables" allow us to store this value in a "global" variable and use it outside the branch during the rule scope. Any action inside the block will be performed at the same time in every issue that matches the JQL regardless of the "order" on the branch.
Select Create custom field in the top-right corner. Choose Select List (cascading), and then select Next. Name your field, and add a description if desired. Select Create. You’ll be taken to the Screens page. Check the box next to Jira Service Management Screen, and any other screens where you want this field to appear.
Smart Values in Automation email address. Matt S Aug 09, 2021. I'm trying to come up with a method for delivering notification emails to new users prior to their creation as users in Jira. These users do have functional email addresses. Using automation, I have a Send Email action configured with smart values in the recipient field. Related smart values: Jira smart values - projects. Rule will run when a project is created. For example, this could be useful if you want to create a set of default issues that should be included in all Jira projects. Scheduled. Related smart values: {{issue}} This rule runs on a specified schedule. The first one is easy to solve. Instead of summary use the smart value { {issue.summary}}. The second part, " Product Article Number" if it's a text custom field the smart value { {issue.Product Article Number}} should work, but the field can't be empty when the issue is created (You're using the trigger "Issue is created"). I hope that helps.

When the smart value for customfield_123 is inserted into JQL, the comment contains the issue key for the trigger issue (i.e. Upgrade task), not for OS update/-s. When the smart value is deleted from JQL, the search returns a list of "OS upgrades" (correct) but naturally, the output is not limited by the value of customfield_123.
Use smart values in your automation rules to access and format Assets objects. View the smart values available in Jira Service Management Cloud.
