Jun 29, 2023. #1. Hi! I bought my iPhone 14 Pro Max 20 of March. After updating to iOS 16.5.1 I've noticed that my battery drains extremely fast and I get max 5 hours of screen time. I don't play games, just use messengers, sometimes listening to music with Airpods Pro 2. I usually charge my iPhone overnight.

On the other side, the iPhone 12 Pro Max is only $150 more and gives me 2GB more memory that I don’t use, the telephoto lens I only use occasionally. So the only killer thing would be the LiDAR sensor but that alone shouldn’t worth $150. In the end I may go to 12 Pro Max because it is the same size as the 8 Plus I used to.

My iPhone X can last all day throughout university and into the night. So from about 7AM I unplug, and plug back in at around 8 usually. I leave all my apps open - THIS DOES NOT AFFECT YOUR BATTERY PERFORMANCE. In fact closing apps drains more battery if you need to reopen them, unless those apps work in the background.
