A 520d is only a 4 cylinder and on a big diesel car like that.. it just isn't enough. In BMW circles it's widely known that a 530d/535d or 330d/335d will be vastly better than a 320d/520d. It is definitely worth it. A 335d will be equally as quick as your S3 (I think). You could also go for a 435d grand coupe if that interests you..?
