If it doesn't look like the one on the right you should replace it. DOT4 is what you're looking for. Personally I use Castrol but there are other very good brands on that side of the pond.
Bike does the exact same thing. When we first started on it, the floats were both set at the 7mm. We did a gravity feed into the carb while carb was on the bench, and gas would leak out though the main jet on both carbs. Set the float maybe 1-2 mm lower, did another bench test, no more leak. Installed carb.

Motorcycle reviewed 2006 Honda Shadow Spirit 750 (VT750DC) 5.0. This is a great bike for beginners with some experience or seasoned veterans. Has plenty of power to haul ass with me and my GF on it for a combined weight total of around 480 lbs. Always thought that VT750's didn't have the power, but man, was I mistaken about that!

For highway the 750 is more than capable but the 1100 has that little extra weight and grunt to handle wind better. I've ridden both. My buddies wife has owned both. usW7.
